JOB ROLE: Support Worker

LOCATION: Ty Arfryn, Johnstown (SA31)

SALARY: £11.50 to £12.30* per hour

SHIFT PATTERNS: 08:30-21:00PM, 12:00-23:00PM (Sleep till 07:00, work until 08:30) & 21:00-08:30AM

Candidates MUST be able to work 12-hour shifts.

 

Due to continued growth, we are looking for Support Workers to join our team in Johnstown, Carmarthen. Full Time is usually 35 hours per week over 3 shifts - 2 or 4 shifts per week can be considered.

About Ty Arfryn:

Ty Arfryn is a 7 bed service in the heart of Carmarthen that provides specialist support for individuals with functional mental health needs and/or learning disabilities; this includes individuals with a forensic background, alcohol and substance misuse.

We have a team of highly trained staff that are available to provide support 24 hours per day. The service is of minimal restrictions and aims to promote independence at every opportunity.

The home is within walking distance of the town centre and public transports stops right outside the home. Nearby places of interest include the Excel Bowling Alley, Leisure Centre and extensive woodland walks of natural beauty.

Experience within the care sector is not essential as we offer full training, however what you do need is the enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values every day to ensure we move mountains to support people to live happy and healthy lives.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including

  • Prompting service users independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administrating medication
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping
  • Assisting with personal care (Depending on service user)
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking
