JOB ROLE: Support Worker

LOCATION: Kings Norton B38

SALARY: £12.00 - £12.70* per hour

HOURS: 35 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERN: 07:00-14:00, 14:00- 21:00, 07:00-21:00

About Maple Leaf Lodge

Maple Leaf Lodge is a residential care home in Birmingham committed to providing support for individuals with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Needs. The service caters to up to 11 male adults, offering personalised care pathways that prioritise independence and enhance the quality of life for the people supported. Our trained staff specialises in compassionate and professional care, addressing the unique challenges associated with diverse conditions.

Nestled in a serene rural setting 1.8 miles from Birmingham suburb Hollywood, Maple Leaf Lodge offers tranquillity while maintaining accessibility. Despite the absence of footpaths or public transport directly around, Wythall train station, just 2.4 miles away, provides convenient connectivity. For added convenience, a dedicated car at the service ensures the people we support can explore local areas. Supermarkets and doctors are within a 2-mile radius, with Birmingham City Centre approximately 6 miles away.

 

 

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.

 

Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development
