JOB ROLE: Cook
LOCATION: Oldham, Manchester (OL8)
RATE: £12.00 per hour
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday 10AM-5:30PM (May include some weekends)
Driving Licence preferred
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced cook to join our team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week.
About Boston House:
Boston House provides support for 17 adults with complex needs following a brain injury.

As a Cook at Boston House, you will;
- Develop a menu including two options per meal time that can also meet modified diet and allergy requirements,
- To work alongside the speech and language therapist to ensure that all modifications to individuals diets are met safely,
- Prepare and cook a balanced, varied, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment,
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring that stock is appropriately ordered/purchased, rotated and maintained,
- Control and monitor allocated budgets,
- Implement and maintain an effective cleaning schedule to meet food hygiene standards,
- Ensure temperature testing of foods and storage areas are carried out as required and accurate records are maintained
- Engage with the people we support at Boston House to ensure that meal options are inclusive to all,
- Ensure that menus are amended seasonally.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential
Interview Process:
· Initially, successful candidates will be invited to attend a team’s meeting to complete a question and answer session relevant to skills and experience required for the role,
· If successful, candidates will be asked to prepare a 7 day menu and 2 small dishes to bring to a face to face meeting whereby they will be shown the kitchen facilities.
