Job Role: Support Worker
Location: Newport, NP19 8FP
Salary: £12.60 - £13.30* per hour  (This rate is effective as of 1st April - if you start prior to this date, your hourly rate will be £12.00 - £12.70 and will be automatically uplifted on 1st April)

We’re thrilled to introduce Summerhill Lane, a brand-new residential care home opening in 2025. Nestled in the heart of Newport, Summerhill Lane will provide high-quality accommodation and support for up to 12 adults with Acquired Brain Injuries and Neurological Conditions. As a new service, we are setting the standard for compassionate, personalized care, and creating an environment where residents can thrive, develop, and lead fulfilling lives.

At Summerhill Lane, we believe in a person-centered approach that focuses on each individual’s unique goals and aspirations. We work closely with families, carers, and healthcare professionals to create tailored support plans that foster independence and enhance well-being.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, dedicated Support Workers to join our new team and help us build a community based on care, respect, and empowerment. As a Support Worker, you’ll have the unique opportunity to be a part of something special from the very beginning—helping individuals regain independence and live life to the fullest. Your role will have a direct impact on creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and their families.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Support residents in maintaining and developing independence through daily activities and encouraging personal growth.
  • Promote engagement in hobbies, interests, and life skills development, such as budgeting, shopping, and paying bills.
  • Assist with healthcare needs, including accompanying residents to medical appointments and supporting with medication administration.
  • Provide assistance with personal care (depending on individual needs), including help with daily tasks like bathing and dressing.
  • Support with domestic duties, including cleaning and preparing meals to create a comfortable, homely atmosphere.

Experience within the care sector is not essential as we offer full training, however what you do need is the enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values every day to ensure we move mountains to support people to live happy and healthy lives.
