Female Mental Health Support Worker - Grove View

Location: Birchgrove, SA7 9NA
Salary: £25,571 – £26,845 (depending on experience & qualifications)
Hours: 35 per week (Day & Night shifts: 08:30–21:00 & 21:00–08:30)

Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality, person-centred support to women with mental health needs, enabling them to live independently and lead safe, fulfilling lives.

About Grove View:

Grove View is a friendly, female-only service based in the close-knit community of Birchgrove, supporting nine women with a range of mental health needs.

This role involves supporting individuals who may experience self-harm or suicidal thoughts. You will use relapse prevention plans and recognise early warning signs to provide safe, proactive, and compassionate support.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including: 

  •  Encourage independence while supporting individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives 
  • Support and promote the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests 
  • Assist with healthcare needs, including medication and attending appointments 
  • Help build essential life skills such as budgeting, shopping, and managing finances 
  • Provide personal care where required 
  • Support with daily household tasks, including cooking and cleaning 
  • Offer consistent emotional and physical support, guidance, and encouragement

Requirements

  •  Previous experience in a support or care role (desirable but not essential)
  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting individuals with mental health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to support with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care principles
  • Good organisational skills and ability to follow care plans
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including long days and weekends
